ABOUT US
The Nicholas Franklin Pierce Memorial Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization
that was established in 2002 to honor the memory of Nick Pierce, who died unexpectedly
on Christmas Eve, 2001 at the age of 19 due to complications from mononucleosis.  The
Foundation, operated and supported by Nick's family and friends, strives to educate
others about the dangers of mononucleosis and being responsible for one's own health.
The Foundation is currently searching for a medical student(s), professor, research group,
etc. to whom The Foundation can award a medical research grant to research the effects
of antibiotics on internal organs, specifically the spleen and liver, how antibiotics affect
the blood circulating through those organs, and how mixing antibiotics such as Amoxicillan
and Zithromiacin or changing a prescription mid-course affects the spleen and liver.  For
